Although the government restrictions have now been lifted, it is important to keep our JKD family and your family & friends safe. For your piece of mind, please read through our guidelines below …
Feel safe when training – if you or your training partner are uncomfortable with proximity of others when you are training, please talk to each other / the instructor. The training can always be adapted (well – that is the JKD way!)
Temperature Check – We will continue to check temperatures of all students and instructors on arrival. You will be asked to avoid training if you have a high temperature.
Footware – when stepping off the mat, please ensure you have suitable foot ware to slip on (i.e. flipflops / sliders / “back to the future” style hoverboards – not just your socks!)
Equipment – if you borrow any of the club kit, please can you use the anti-bac wipes to clean then down before and after use. It would be good practice to do this for your own equipment too!
Covid Symptoms – if you or any member of your household / bubble have experienced Covid symptoms in the last 10 days – please stay at home.
Track and Trace – feel free to log in the hall’s NHS track and trace system, if you wish. If you do experience any symptoms or have a positive test after attending a session in the hall, please let me know.
Steaming the mats – mats will be steam cleaned after every lesson
Close quarter training – standing (clinch) work and ground (grappling) may be restricted for the first few weeks, depending on how the students feel.
Please note that Kevin, Jon and Simon have all been double vaccinated and also regularly complete covid tests.
Finally, as we get used to training again, there are likely to be challenges which we have not considered. We will continue to communicate with you as much as possible, including updates on the website and Facebook / Instagram pages, however if you have any questions or concerns, please ask.
